Hotel Bahía Santander: comfort and dining in the heart of the city

Hotel Bahía Santander combines a well-regarded city location with spaces designed for relaxing after exploring Santander and Cantabria. Guests particularly mention the comfortable beds, the spaciousness of some rooms and bathrooms, the quality of the towels and the friendly reception team. The hotel also offers a restaurant, where the dining-room service receives especially positive feedback. It is a practical choice for visitors looking to stay in Santander and enjoy a meal without leaving the hotel. Experiences may vary depending on the room booked: some reviews mention differences in size, noise levels or comfort, particularly in certain triple rooms. We recommend checking the specific room features before booking.

What our guests say

JA

JORGE ALBERTO SALINAS

It is a four-star hotel in a perfect location. The rooms are extremely comfortable, spacious, and very well laid out. The bathroom is spacious and has a bathtub, and the towels are of very good quality. The bed is incredibly comfortable, there is no noise, and the staff are very friendly. The parking is excellent, spacious and equipped with security cameras. Without a doubt, I highly recommend it. The breakfast is incredibly generous and complete, with an international standard!!! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant last night. The food was excellent, the service was very good, and the prices were very reasonable. We noticed that many residents of Santander regularly dine here, which is a clear indication of the excellent value for money.

Total disappointment. I chose this hotel mainly for its location and deliberately did not book through Booking.com so that the hotel could benefit directly from my reservation. Unfortunately, this gesture was not rewarded. I found myself in an extremely small room, more like a staff room, while paying a higher price than the one offered on Booking.com for a standard room. Therefore, the value for money is very disappointing. In addition, the noise from the jackhammers coming from the construction work at the back is extremely unpleasant and seriously affects comfort. It is a shame, as we had planned to organize our business trip here, but we will ultimately choose another hotel. A frustrating experience that I do not recommend.

As all the reviews rightly say, this is a place never to return to. A four-star hotel that I would rate as three, charging the price of a luxury five-star hotel, no less than €240 per night. We couldn’t sleep a single night because the beds were so uncomfortable and you can hear every noise from the other rooms. They offered me a superior room, but it would have been the same, just larger. What a terrible hotel. I’m furious. Today, at 5 a.m., we left the hotel and will never return. Rating: 3 stars. Poor.

As a professional in the hospitality industry, it is a real pleasure to find a four-star hotel that, in my opinion, deserves its fifth star. It is clean and welcoming, the reception staff are very friendly and helpful, and as for the restaurant, it is truly outstanding. You can see a high level of professionalism among the waiters, something I miss in other hotels and even in restaurants. It is clear that professionalism comes with years of experience, and here you find people with many years in the profession. At the same time, you also find young people, around twenty-five years old, with only a few years of experience but with exquisite values and manners, eager to please guests and willing to help diners. This is especially for you, Pablo: congratulations. It is clear that you enjoy what you do. Congratulations also to the management for keeping such a great team. As for the room, which is very spacious, I am very sorry, but I have to give it a failing grade: the bed is neither the size nor the quality expected of a hotel of this category. Apart from that, everything was very good. The bathroom was very spacious, with what I always require: NO BATHTUB, BUT A WALK-IN SHOWER. In this case, there was a very large shower tray with grab rails. The cleanliness was fully in keeping with the standard of the hotel. Once again, congratulations, Hotel Bahía. We will be back, and I recommend it to everyone. Excellent value for money, a 10 out of 10.

I booked a triple room, but when I arrived (5 December 2025), I found a double room with an extra bed, which was very small and did not allow enough room to stretch out while sleeping. I mentioned this at reception, and they told me that all the triple rooms were like that... 🤷🏻‍♀️ If I had known, I would not have booked this hotel. Two nights costing almost €400, only to sleep badly, cramped up. In addition, part of the wallpaper was peeling, and the ventilation did not work, so I had to sleep with the window open in the middle of December... The location is excellent, though, that must be why it has four stars, I suppose.
